Stone Baked English Cinnamon Apples

Stuffed with fruit and nuts, a simple and fun recipe to do when English apples are in season. Place the apples in your stone bake oven to take advantage of residual heat after a Pizza cooking session or a Roast.  To serve 6.


6 English Baking Apples (Bramley Apples)

¼ cup of chopped nuts

1/3 of diced fruit of your choice e.g raisins, cranberries, sultana’s or other

1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

1 large tablespoon of butter,

1 cup sweetened apple juice

1/3 Cup of brown sugar





Oven Environment:

Baking environment, as described in the Cooking Technique guide.


Remove tops, and cores of apples leaving the bottom intact and roughly a 1 inch gap in the centre.

Mix the cinnamon, sugar, nuts and dried fruit in a bowl. Fill the apples with the mix, and top up with butter. Place into ceramic dish see our Cookware Range, and fill the base with apple juice to adequately cover the bottom of the dish. Cover with foil and bake in your wood fired oven over 30 minutes, check the apple is cooked by piercing with a skewer. Do not cook as to be excessively mushy. Check after 15 minutes to baste with juices.

A summery favorite, serve with sprinkled brown sugar and Cornish Clotted Ice Cream
