At the start of the summer, The Stone Bake Oven Company were delighted to provide Mr Herbert with a Mezzo 76 wood fired oven from our residential range. Stumbling upon a recent post in the UK Wood Fired Oven Forum, we were delighted to find Daron sharing photographs of the process he took to achieve a rendered finish with mosaic tile detailing.
The rendering process is a great way to add a layer of insulation to your oven, further increasing the heat retention from 5+ hours to 20+ hours, whilst maintaining the authentic dome shape of your wood fired oven.
The rendering process is simple and you can find our specialist insulation materials in our online shop here.
Simplyโฆ
ย 1)ย ย Lay the insulation board on your oven stand
2)ย ย Assemble your oven on top of the insulation board
3)ย ย Lay 1-2 layers of insulation wool over the oven dome
4)ย ย Secure in place with chicken wire using cable ties to pull tight and form a dome shape
5)ย ย Using a standard sand and cement mix, render over the top of the oven dome for a smooth, igloo finish.
Many thanks for the UK Wood Fired Oven Forum.ย
