At the start of the summer, The Stone Bake Oven Company were delighted to provide Mr Herbert with a Mezzo 76 wood fired oven from our residential range. Stumbling upon a recent post in the UK Wood Fired Oven Forum, we were delighted to find Daron sharing photographs of the process he took to achieve a rendered finish with mosaic tile detailing.
The rendering process is a great way to add a layer of insulation to your oven, further increasing the heat retention from 5+ hours to 20+ hours, whilst maintaining the authentic dome shape of your wood fired oven.

Simply…
1) Lay the insulation board on your oven stand
2) Assemble your oven on top of the insulation board
3) Lay 1-2 layers of insulation wool over the oven dome
4) Secure in place with chicken wire using cable ties to pull tight and form a dome shape
5) Using a standard sand and cement mix, render over the top of the oven dome for a smooth, igloo finish.
