4 easy ways to get your outdoor eating space ready for autumn

autumn-eating-spaceNow that the nights are drawing in and temperatures are slightly dropping, it’s time to update your outdoor eating space ready for the autumn months. We’ve got four quick and easy tips to help you totally transform your garden.

 1.Seating
All of your deciduous garden plants should be slowly starting to change from a bright green to a warm, autumnal orange so, bring out those red, brown and orange cushions for your seating area. Also, with the evenings getting slightly cooler, you’ll need to find your warm throws and blankets so that you and your guests will keep warm at your autumn pizza parties.

2.Décor
For the décor, we love to get creative and use what’s naturally available to us. You can string fir cones together to make bunting, spray them with orange and gold spray paint or even turn them into place names for the table.

We also love to use pumpkins as decoration in the autumn months. What’s even better is you can buy your pumpkins at the beginning of autumn and when it comes round to Halloween, you’re stocked up ready for your carving competitions.

3.Lighting
As the autumn evenings quickly start to get darker, lighting is essential when updating your outdoor eating space. We like to opt for softer, more natural light and candles are perfect for this. Whether you have large candles or tea lights in autumnal lanterns, the soft glow of the flame brings a warm light to the evenings. Alternatively, you could choose to go for ‘warm glow’ fairy or solar lights and wrap them around your plants and trees.

4.Food
We love nothing more than sitting outside, wrapped up in a cosy blanket, surrounded by twinkling lights and eating a delicious wood fired meal. When autumn hits us, we automatically want to eat all those comfort food dishes that don’t hold back on the calories. We’re talking soups, stews, pies and even better, crumbles. These types of dishes are even tastier when cooked in your wood fired oven, check out our fantastic recipe section for some ideas!
